Enemalta is still investigating the damage to the interconnector caused by the anchor of Chem P’s ship.
According to the preliminary inspection conducted by the divers, revelled that the interconnector was damaged in the incident which happened during Saturday, March 19 storm.
Following this incident, as a precautionary measure, the electricity supply through the interconnector was limited. Notwithstanding, the country’s energy supply was not disrupted.
This was achieved through the timely action of Enemalta in operating its emergency plants in Delimara.
Meanwhile, legal and technical actions have ensued to initiate the repair operations on the damaged interconnector.
