Applying for the electric vehicles pilot project
Owners of electric vehicles (EV) who wish to start charging their vehicle at the comfort of their home may apply to participate in the EV Pilot Project.
The charges covering installation and equipment costs will be waved during the pilot, while a fixed flat rate of €0.1298 per unit will be applied when charging their vehicle during the off-peak period (00.00 hrs – 06.00 hrs), as stipulated by Enemalta plc. The consumption consumed during the remaining time of the day will be added to the total current consumption of the household.
The consumption of the EV charger will be measured via a new meter. During the off-peak period, the EV unit (EVU) will be automatically activated, whilst during the peak period, it will be automatically disabled. Users will still be in a position to charge the EV during the peak period by activating a by pass function. In doing so, the EVU will remain active until the start of the next on-peak period at 06.01 hrs.
All the energy consumed during the off-peak period (00.00 hrs – 06.00 hrs) will be charged at a flat rate of €0.1298 per unit, whilst that consumed during the remaining time of day will be added to the total current consumption of the household.
Those interested in participating in this pilot project need to fill in the online form and our personnel will get in touch.
