New Electricity Service When requesting a new Electricity Service one is to seek the assistance of the Licensed Electrician, who has been entrusted with the electrical installation, to fill in a form- (Form A) and submit it to:
Customer Care Section Xatt il-Qwabar, Marsa
All requested information must be provided since the Application will otherwise not be accepted.
Note 1: Large developments such as blocks of flats or commercial premises should be aware that due to the relatively large electricity demand that they may be requesting, it is necessary that a substation needs to be constructed on the same premises to satisfy their requirement. Additional separate space will be required to house metering and associated equipment. People responsible for large developments should consult Enemalta while still on the drawing board to include in the plans, the required physical spaces where to house the substation and metering and associated equipment separately.
Note 2: Customers requesting services for garages in common areas will be provided with an electricity meter which will be installed at the common entrance to the garages. It is therfore advisable to consult Enemalta before installing any electrical equipment on the customer's side.

Moving Into A New House Before purchasing new property you are strongly advised to check that the electrical meter and associated apparatus is not tampered with as this may lead you to bear the consequences. Stealing electricity is a criminal offence leading very often to suspension of the service. It is therefore recommended that the new tenant submits an application form ‘H’ for change of meter.
Demolishing of existing Buildings In general when buildings are to be demolished there are two things that are required so that works can proceed smoothly and the customer does not encounter any problems in the future. These are: 1) A request is to be made to remove the Electricity meter from the premises before any civil works are undertaken. This is to be effected by submitting an application Form C to:
Customer Care Section Xatt il-Qwabar, Marsa
2) If it is the case that overhead lines attached to the building would need to be shifted in order that the proposed civil works can be carried out then a request is to be made to shift the overhead lines. This is to be effected by submitting an application Form D to:
Customer Care Section Xatt il-Qwabar, Marsa
Both Form C and Form D are therefore required in such cases. The Form D will not be accepted unless a Form C is also submitted.
Complaints about the Quality of the Electricity Supply These complaints vary in nature, some examples are supply interruptions, low voltage, unsteady supply, damaged or dangerous poles, brackets and wires.
Such requests need to be made immediately in order that the nature of the complaint can be assured and appropriate action could be taken.
Complaints can therefore be made directly to the District Office responsible for the electricity in your area. The District offices are open during office hours from Monday to Friday as follows:
