Enemalta Corporation, Network Code, Version 1 - December 2007

In accordance with Legal Notice 511 of 2004 (LN 511/2004), Electricity Regulations 2004, Enemalta Corporation has been designated the distribution system operator (DSO) in Malta and is responsible for dispatching generation plant and for balancing the distribution system.  As part of its overall responsibility as the DSO, Enemalta has formulated the attached Network Code, to regulate third-party access to the electricity distribution network. Hence in order to ensure safety and interoperability, all users of the distribution system shall comply with the relevant sections of the latest revisions of this Network Code, the requirements of the Electricity Regulations, the Electricity Supply Regulations (ESR), and any other relevant legislation that may come into force from time to time.  Users shall also be required to enter into technical and other agreements with the DSO; for example, customers and generators shall be required to have connection agreements with Enemalta.  The Network Code allows safe and controlled access to the network for generators and auto-producers who wish to use the network. Such access is granted in a non-discriminatory way to all existing and future generators.
