What is the SMS Alerts Service?
The SMS Alert Service is a new service offered free by Enemalta Corporation.
This service will inform the customers two days in advance of any scheduled suspensions due to maintenance performed by Enemalta in their streets via sms or email. This service is offered to Enemalta Customers in order to help registered customers plan and make necessary arrangements in advance and reduce inconvenience.
This Service allows the customer to register for multiple addresses in different localities and features an RSS feed.
Moreover, customers have the option to register in order to receive Customer Information.
What is these Purpose of FAQs
The purpose of these FAQs is to guide customers through the various functions of the SMS Alerts Service.
Customers will be able to register for this service through Enemalta Website and thereafter will be notified via sms or email regarding any planned electricity suspension that will occur or customer information depending on which service they registered for.
What are the Requirements?
To register for the service, the customer needs to have access Enemalta Website, a valid email address and mobile number.
How do I register?
The customer can register for the SMS Alerts Service in two ways, either by e-ID or by email address and mobile no. In order to register for the service, the customer needs to go through the following steps as follows:
- Access Enemalta Website
- Click on the ‘SMS Alerts’ and the customer will be directed to the following page
- In this page the customer can read information about the service offered by Enemalta Corporation. Press on the image shown in the bottom of the page and customer will be transferred to the Notifications page
- In the Notifications page, on pressing Login Button, the user will be transferred to the following page.
- If the user has an e-ID account, he needs to enter his/her details. The customer will receive an email and sms stating that he has been approved and can use the service.
On the other hand, if the user is going to register by email address and mobile no, he needs to follow these steps:
- On this page the user needs to press on ‘Please click here to register’
- In the above screen the user needs to enter the required information (marked) and click on register. Upon clicking the register button the user will receive two codes, one via email and one via sms which he used to register. These should be entered in the following screen.
Note:
Field names such as email address, mobile number, first name and last name are mandatory fields while account number is optional.
The user should enter valid email address and mobile number as he will be receiving pass codes to confirm account.
- After entering the email and email code and the mobile no and mobile code, press confirm. When pressing Confirm Button the user will receive a password via email and mobile so that he will be able to login, edit his profile and add the streets that he wants to be notified about.
It is to point out that there is a waiting period (Less than 2 days) between confirmation and receiving of the password, until the user is approved by an Enemalta customer care representative.
Login with e-ID?
To login with e-ID the customer needs to go through step 6 and then perform the following steps as follows:
- Enter eID number
- Enter eID password
- Click Login
Login with an Email Address?
To login with an eMail address the customer needs to go through step 6 and then perform the following steps as follows:
In this case the user has to perform the following steps:
- Un tick Login with e-ID?
- Enter email address
- Enter password
- Click Login
How do I edit my profile?
To edit his / her profile, the user will have to follow the login process (Point 5 and 6 refers). After logging in successfully the user will be directed to the following screen.

By editing fields in the highlighted area, the user will be editing his / her profile.

How do I add streets?
The user should select a service and add streets in order to be notified by sms / email. The two services offered by Enemalta Corporation are Scheduled and Customer Information. While Scheduled informs the customers about planned suspension of electricity, the Customer Information informs customer with any information Enemalta would like to pass to its customers.
To add streets, the customer will have to follow the login process (Point 6 refers). After logging in successfully the user will be directed to the following screen.
- The user will have to click select button next to the service he would like to receive notification for. The user can choose either one or both of the services offered.
- After selecting the service the user will be directed to the above page. To add streets he / she will need to follow these steps:
- Click Activate
- Select Notification type (email, sms or both)
- Earliest time (earliest time user wants to be notified)
- Latest time (latest time user wants to be notified)
- Select Location (by Local Council)
- Select Street
- Click Add Street
- Click Save
Note: User can choose more than one street per service
To delete streets, the user will have to follow the login process (Point 6 refers). After logging in successfully the user will be directed to the following screen.
- The user will have to click select button next to the service he would like to remove streets from (highlighted area).
- After selecting the service the user will be directed to the above page. To remove streets he / she will need click on delete next to the street (shown above).
What can I do if I forgot my password?
If the customer forgets the password, all he needs to do is access the notifications page through Enemalta Homepage (image below) and click on the Forgot Password
Should the customer be register using the eID, one would need to contact mGOV to retrieve his eID password.
